Picture below will  explain about phase on Youkai Watch Card Game.

Yo-kai Watch Card game basically focused on gathering required soul to summon your own Yo-kai and battle it out with friends! And not only that, you can also "inspirit" your Yo-kai with other Yo-kai for more power!
You will receive damage by a form of card faced down on your field. The advantage of this is you can actually use the damage additional souls to summon even more powerful Yo-kai on your field! Be careful not too get the damage to 6 cards though, you will lose the game that instant!
